The role of gate valves, check valves and bottom valves in industrial pumps

The function of gate valve: A gate valve must be installed between the outlet side of the water pump and the drainage pipe. Its function is to control the connection or disconnection of water flow and adjust the size of water flow. When the water pump starts, the gate valve must be closed to reduce the starting power of the water pump and reduce the impact of starting voltage on the power grid. When the water pump enters normal drainage operation, the gate valve should be opened for drainage. When the water pump stops running, the gate valve should be closed first, and then the water pump should be stopped.

The function of a check valve is to prevent water from flowing back in the drainage pipeline. When the water pump stops working, the water will flow back in the opposite direction. The valve of the check valve automatically closes by its own weight and water pressure, preventing water from passing through and avoiding damage to the pump impeller and bottom valve caused by water flow impact.

The function of the bottom valve is to prevent water from flowing out of the suction pipe and pump body before starting the water pump, ensuring the normal start of the water pump. After the water pump stops working, it ensures that the water stored in the suction pipe will not leak out. The next time the water pump runs, there is no need to inject water into the water pump body and suction pipe.
